Sounds like we'll see CU in some pro combat jerseys next year. I hope nothing too crazy, but a night game on national TV would be a good stage to try something a little different.
I like them better than I thought I would but I think we need to stick with the traditional Buff emblem on the side. I really despise the super new school ones with the designs and horns as part of the paint job
But I’m definitely in favor of keeping the classic helmets. However, if we can get recruits/players excited with some additional options, I think the older fans (myself definitely included) need to keep an open mind. I don’t understand why kids like the wacky Oregon uniforms, but apparently that’s something they successfully use when selling the program to recruits.
if it makes you feel better, a lot of those are old helmet designs with different color schemes
We don’t really have “classic” helmets. The first one is the newest design, the second is the one before that (note that the Buff logo is different), the 4th was used in the 70’s… The “horn” concept we used in ’09 and ’68, although these are variations. Remember, we used to have blue and gold uniforms. Ugh, Chuck Fairbanks.
Some of the logos they do a great job incorporating into the entire helmet paint job, this one however did not seem to go very well. If done properly I think it could look cool
I don't really like the oversized Buff logo ones... or any of them really
They strike me as much ado about nothing (new color schemes on old designs) or weird looking horn schemes that are too busy and the casual fan wouldn’t understand anyway. The oversized logo reminds me of a neck tattoo for some reason.
Were I designing fancy space football uniforms, the helmet would feature a Buff silhouette similar to the Buffstampede.com logo on a matte black helmet. Kind of like what Boise did. (not that following their lead has been terribly successful for us in the past)
especially the over-sized and un-centered Buff logo. However, it’s difficult to imagine how they’d look on the field as this lighting is so different than in a game. The gold helmet with the black Buff logo is awesome. Not a huge fan of the CU logo w/ silver, but I think any of these would be cool to see next year, just to change it up a bit. I wonder how the unis would change, if at all.
that's exactly what I thought at the time last year
the logo totally should of been gold, just a inversion of the normal helmet.
as far as these go, agree with hvis, don’t like any of them. Our helmet design is classic and one of the best in college FB, don’t mess with it. If they (and the players) want to do some crazy oregon style unis from time to time that’s fine but leave the helmet alone!

Agree, the first couple weren't too bad

no argument
there’s certainly some “legacy” elements in these designs, which is kinda cool I guess

I think the enlarged Ralphie logo would look sick
With a white helmet w/ white face mask on the road or the all gold helmet for a home game.

Dont like any of em
our two we wore last year were good.

I would have loved the black ones from last year
if it was a flat black helmet with the gold logo. That would be sick.
